Chicago basketball legend Sonny Parker has confirmed to us that Jabari Parker, the 6'4 class of 2013 guard from Simeon High School in Chicago, has received a scholarship offer courtesy of the University of Illinois. Illini head coach Bruce Weber extended the offer while Parker was in attendance with his Simeon team at their Satellite Camp at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Prior to the Satellite Camp, Parker attended the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, VA.
We can guarantee that Parker's offer will not be the last one that the Illini will extend to the spectacular in-state trio from the class of 2013, which consists of Parker, 6'7 Tommy Hamilton Jr. from Whitney Young High School in Chicago and 6'6 Alex Foster from De LaSalle Institute in Chicago. Ideally speaking, the Illini coaching staff would like to land at least two of these three players as members of their 2013 recruiting class.
Hamilton and Foster are also participating at the Satellite Camp which concludes today. Therefore, we think that it is only fitting to ask the following question: Could offers to both of them be far behind? We believe that the answer is an unequivocal "no"!
