The scholarship offers continue to pour in for Gavin Schilling, the 6'9 2013 power forward from De LaSalle Institute in Chicago. As a result, Schilling has now added yet three more offers to his vast collection. His most recent trio are courtesy of the University Of Wisconsin and head coach Bo Ryan, Colorado State University and head coach Tim Miles and Vanderbilt University and head coach Kevin Stallings.
Schilling unquestionably ranks among the top five prospects in Illinois from the class of 2013. He has gotten off to a strong start so far this season, having put up double-doubles in points and rebounds in several games. There is no doubt that Schilling is capable of doing that on a regular basis.
With the latest offers from the Badgers, Rams and Commodores Schilling now has a total of nine offers to date. Previous offers have come from Illinois, DePaul, Oregon State, USC, TCU, and Minnesota. And as we have said from the get-go, it is a given that more will follow as other college coaches get the opportunity to see him play.
Wisconsin assistant coach Lamont Paris, who has been extremely active when it comes to recruiting the Chicago area, watched Schilling in a key Chicago Catholic matchup versus St. Joseph High School earlier this month in which De LaSalle won 62-52. The Badgers have also extended a scholarship offer to St. Joseph's 6'4 2014 2-guard Paul Turner.
In addition to Schilling, Colorado State has also offered his De LaSalle classmate--that being 6'7 forward Alex Foster. The list of 2013 prospects from the state of Illinois that the Rams are involved with is endless. As for Vanderbilt, coach Stallings, along with assistant coaches David Cason, Dan Muller and Tom Richardson have long been recruiting fixtures in Illinois. Besides Schilling, the Commodores have also shown interest in 6'3 2012 guard Jerron Wilbut from Downers Grove South High School in Downers Grove, IL.
