Since this past spring the one thing that has plagued Alex Foster when it comes to his performance on the hardwood is inconsistency.  This has carried over somewhat into the regular season, as the 6'7 2013 forward did not make a lot of noise when we watched his team on opening night at the Hoops For Healing Thanksgiving Tournament at Naperville North High School in Naperville, IL.

As a result, Foster's recruitment has changed somewhat since the summer ended.  He has been playing better of late and college programs who weren't recruiting him previously are now taking notice.  In fact Foster has now added three new scholarship offers to his collection courtesy of Minnesota and Head Coach Tubby Smith, Texas A&M and Head Coach Billy Kennedy and Colorado State and Head Coach Tim Miles.

In addition to his latest offers, Foster also took unofficial visits to both Notre Dame and Harvard during the fall.  He also holds previous offers from a number of other schools, although some of them are not as active with Foster as they once were.

Minnesota assistant coach Vince Taylor watched Foster last Friday night in a key Chicago Catholic League matchup versus St. Joseph.  Foster scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a 62-52 win.  The Gophers, Aggies and Rams all continue to recruit Chicago extremely hard.

As for Texas A&M, in addition to recruiting Foster they remain in the mix for 6'2 2013 2-guard Kendrick Nunn from Simeon Career Academy and coach Kennedy is hoping that he can ultimately get Nunn back in the fold after he reneged on an early commitment to the Aggies.  Meanwhile, under the direction of assistant coaches Niko Medved and Ronald "Chinn" Coleman, Colorado State has been as visible as any D1 program out there when it comes to recruiting the state of Illinois, as the Rams are involved with a ton of 2013 prospects from the Land Of Lincoln.

Getting back to Foster, he was initially dubbed a member of the "big three" in Illinois from amongst prospects in the 2013 class along with Simeon's Jabari Parker and Whitney Young's Tommy Hamilton Jr.  Despite his inconsistency, there is no question that Foster sports as much potential as almost anyone in the state from 2013 and that when he comes to play he can truly be a force.
